PM Urged Public to Take up Brooms on Sunday to Clean up the Nation

Prime minister Abiy Ahmed urged the general public to participate in the cleaning up campaign to be held all over the country.

Speaking at the ceremony to honor the Ethiopian World Cross-Country National Team following the results registered in the 43rd edition of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Cross Country Championship Abiy asked all residents including university students in the country to clean up their villages.

Simultaneously, he also requests the public to clean negative thoughts from a mind.
Let’s distance ourselves from hatred and take time to cleanse our spirits as we clean Ethiopia.

Are you ready? This Sunday, April 14, 2019, from 7:30am-9am we will all come together as Ethiopians from all walks of life, to clean our streets and our neighborhoods, reads the promotional message posted in Office of the Prime Minister Facebook page.

We clean because we all deserve to live in dignity and in environments that nurture our wellbeing. We clean for our health and because it is our responsibility to do so.
