21 Ethiopian Migrants Returned From Libya
Ministry of foreign affairs disclosed that 21 Ethiopians who has been in Libyan prison has been returned today.
The ministry indicated preparation is underway to bring 45 other Ethiopian migrants from Benghazi and Tripoli.
Foreign Ministry spokes person Meles Alem said, the situation in Libya was not favorable to process travel documents in that country. The foreign ministry has prepared the travel documents for the returnees through Ethiopian embassy in Cairo.
He further said that the gov’t would continue efforts to bring Ethiopian migrants from Libya and other countries.
Some of the returnees said that they were in detention center in Libya. They expressed their thankfulness and stated that they will extend their contribution in the effort underway to create awareness about the adverse effect of illegal migration.
