Ethiopia and Eritrea Inked Historical Peace DeclarationToday in Asmara
Eritrea and Ethiopia have signed a joint declaration of peace and friendship today at a statehouse in Asmera.
The Agreement, which specifies five pillars, was inked this morning by leaders of the two countries Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed(PhD) and President Isaias Afwerki.
The two countries have agreed to step up the strife between the two countries and move forward into a new relationship and signed cooperation agreement includes political, economic, social, cultural, and security issues.
Furthermore, the two nations are also agreed to restart land and air transport systems as well as to resume telephone service and other business engagements.
In addition, they also agreed to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries and continue their activities in the field.
The agreement also includes issues on implementing border decisions, granting regional peace and cooperating on development aspects.
Ethiopian delegates led by Prime minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has paid an official visit to Eritrea yesterday and held formal discussions with Eritrean President.
