Blue Party Announced Possible Merger With Ginbot 7
Blue Party announced a work plan and a proposed merger with Ginbot 7, an exiled opposition political organization.
The move is following the parliament decision to rescind the designation of Oromo Liberation Front (OLF), Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) & Ginbot 7 as terrorist groups,
According to the statement from the blue party, the executive committee has decided to work with Ginbot 7, said Yeshiwas Assefa, chairperson of the party, adding that the party will even merge with.
The committee has decided to hold talks with heads of the Ginbot 7, he added.
On the briefing event dubbed as “one of us for all of us, there will no challenge we can’t overcome”, held in its premise found around Ambassador park, the blue party stated the reason to pass such a decision,
The reason to merge with Ginbot 7 is that the party which is struggled for national issues and works for general societal benefits, and it was our will to join such parties, adding that the parties were started the dialogue before.
The party would struggle to create wide political space and to create free institutions and in Ethiopia and would discuss with the prime minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed.
Blue party has also proposed that all soldiers of armed forces join the Ethiopian Army and serve the action.
Moreover, the party has also stated that it has submitted a letter to the prime minister office, to discuss with Abiy Ahmed (PhD) concerning the current political and social related issues
Finally, the party has expressed its support to the current reconciliation and peace agreement with Eritrean government, and the party declares that it would work to take parts in the general economic, social, political related activities so as to create sustainable development between the two countries.
