Somali Region Pardons All Political Prisoners
Ethiopian Somali regional state pardons all prisoners except those who are charged with the rape and murder.
The regional government has frequently released several prisoners and now 150 detained people are freed from prisons found in the region, according to Endris Ismael, Somali communication head.
According to officials from the region, 17 of the released inmates are members of Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF), an opposition group which was designated as a terrorist group by the Ethiopian government.
Prison centers will be transformed to religious places, officials told to BBC.
